Q. What are templates?
Templates have been designed keeping the new user or begginnner in mind. They are readymade designs for your page which let you build a homepage without any knowledge of programming.

It takes you through an easy to follow, step-by-step process to build a page and writes the HTML for you. All you have to do is fill in a form and the homepage is automatically generated.

Templates allow even a newbie to create professional looking webpages easily and fast.

Q. Where can i find these templates?
Firstly you have to login to your homepages account. The templates are listed in the left menu within the filemanager. Clicking on any one of the template links will take you to the template design selection. You will get to choose a particlar design from the 3 to 6 given. On choosing the template you will be taken step by step through the homepage creation process.

Q. What are the different types of templates available at Rediff Homepages?
The different types of templates at Rediff are :

a.Personal Homepages: This is a standard template which allows you to create a personal homepages with different layouts and allows you to put an image in the page and also provides plenty of space for whatever text you want to put up on your page. It also gives you an option to have a list of your favorite sites which people can click on and go to. And finlly provision for a visitor counter is also given.

b.Travel Diary: This template is for people who love to travel and would like to tell the world about it. It offers a special layout related to travel.

c.Baby Pages: This template lets you chart your baby's growth for the world to see. This type of template allows you to create your baby photo album, a special quilt where others can put messages for your baby and much more.

d.Love Dedication: This template allows you to create a homepage dedicated to your loved one. It can also come in handy for Valentines day.

e.Resume Template: This template helps you create an online personal resume.

f. Photo Album : This template is used for (you guessed it!!) putting up your snaps and photos. We will keep on adding new templates regularly so do look forward to more variety in designs. Templates are ideal for new inexperienced users.

Q. Can i use a travel template to place my personal details or vice versa?
You can use any template for any theme you like. But each template has been designed keeping in mind a particular idea or theme. This may result in an odd looking page if you mix the themes or topics. Usually personal templates have a more general design and can be used for a variety of purposes.

Q. How can i change the background color of the template?
Templates have fixed designs which cannot be customized to a large extent. You may change the background color or other features only if it is allowed for within the template creation form. Some templates have an option which allows you to choose a color from a given set of three or five.

Q. I need to create a business homepage but there is not template for it.
We are working on adding templates for more themes or purposes. But we cannot cover all the possiblities so you might have to use the current set of templates for other ideas and themes as well. Personal pages can be used for business pages as well since they have a very general design.
